Byakko

Nanzoin is an ancient temple of the Shingon school nestled in the mountains of Shinoshiro. Founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai, it has a long history. Particularly famous is the colossal 41-meter-long Shakyamuni Nirvana statue, which boasts one of the world's largest bronze castings. Also known as the honzan of the Shinoshiro Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage Route, it is visited by many pilgrims and worshippers.
