History

Byakko

Hayauma Jinja stands in the Kumano area of Miyazaki City, a shrine named after the "swift horse" as its name suggests. Since ancient times, horses have been regarded as sacred animals and considered divine messengers. This shrine is said to bestow particular benefits for traffic safety and the swift fulfillment of wishes. The place name Kumano itself carries the resonance of spiritual efficacy and has long been a place of devoted faith. Though we have entered a modern automobile age, many people still visit this shrine to seek the divine protection of safe travels and swift wishes fulfilled.
