This is a distinguished temple that has long been situated in Katsunuma, the homeland of Koshu grapes. It enshrines Yakushi Nyorai as its principal object of worship and has been cherished as the god of grape cultivation. Deeply connected with the rich grape cultivation of Koshu, it has gathered the faith of those wishing for abundant harvests and prosperous business. From the grounds, one can overlook the entire Kofu Basin, and the beautiful scenery of the four seasons soothes the hearts of worshippers. Continuing to watch over the development of the region as the guardian deity of Katsunuma, now famous as the land of wine.

ご本尊のぶどうを持つ薬師如来像は秘仏で、通常は厨子が閉じられています。御開帳は5年に一度のため、拝観しても像は見られないことがほとんどです。
