History
Oitate Hachiman-gu, enshrined in the Oitate district of Ogoh City, is dedicated to Hachiman, the deity presiding over vitality and growth, as indicated by the place name "Oitate" (living and growing). Hachiman enshrines Emperor Ojin and is also known as a kami watching over children's healthy growth alongside martial fortune. Located in the rich agricultural flatlands of Ogoh, it has long protected the region's agricultural prosperity and people's livelihoods. True to its name of "Oitate," it is a shrine visited by many people praying for the birth of new life, children's growth, and the development of the community.
