JR姫路駅・山陽姫路駅から徒歩約15分。神姫バスを利用する場合は姫路駅北口から乗車し、姫路城大手門前バス停で下車すると境内まで徒歩約1分です。
境内に隣接するタイムズ姫路護国神社（30台）が最寄りの駐車場です。姫路城大手門まで200m以内と近く、姫路城観光との併用にも便利な立地です。
季節限定の御朱印は2ヶ月ごとにデザインが更新され、万葉集の和歌とその季節の花や果実のイラストが添えられた見開きサイズです。
毎年1月1日〜10日の新年万燈祭は約2,000本の奉納提灯が境内を彩り、数万人の参拝者が訪れます。この時期は周辺も含め混雑します。
