History
Sakamoto Hachiman Miya is a shrine enshrined in Sakamoto, Dazaifu. In recent years, it has drawn particular attention as a place connected to the "Thirty-Two Poems on Plum Blossoms," which became the source of the Reiwa era. This location, close to the ruins of the Dazaifu Administration Office, was a place of political and cultural importance since ancient times. On a land where the culture of admiring plum blossoms sung in the Man'yōshū continues to flourish, this shrine lies in a region deeply connected to the Dazaifu Tenmangu, known as the deity of learning. As a shrine full of historical romance, it is beloved by many visitors.
