Eihō-ji is an ancient Rinzai Zen temple built on Tokkei Mountain in Tajimi, continuing from the Kamakura period with an esteemed lineage. It is known for its beautiful gardens and historic buildings, a temple of high distinction housing National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties. Set in the nature-rich environment of Tokkei Mountain, it has flourished for a long time as a training ground for Zen practice. The grounds, beautiful through the four seasons, remain a sacred place where many come seeking peace of mind, cherished to this day.
