Chokei-ji

Chokei-ji is an ancient temple said to have been founded in the Muromachi period. Although its founder is unknown, it has gathered the faith of the people in this region for a long time. According to temple traditions, it was once a bustling temple visited by many believers. Over the long years, while undergoing several repairs and reconstructions, its history and traditions have been passed down. Ancient trees that evoke a sense of eternal history stand in the quiet grounds, calming the hearts of visitors. It continues to be loved by the local people, providing them with peace of mind. I myself am often soothed by the tranquility of this temple.
