History
Nomiyama Kannon-ji is a Kannon sacred site enshrined on Nomiyama, the sacred peak of Shinoshiro. With the thousand-armed Kannon Bodhisattva as the principal deity, it has long been cherished as "Nomiyama-san" by the people. Clear air flows through the grounds nestled in the mountains, purifying body and spirit. Particularly known for its benefits of safe childbirth and child conception, it is visited by many women. It also occupies an important position as a chapel of the Shinoshiro Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage Route. It is a sacred place rich in nature where one can touch the deep compassion of Kannon-sama in the mountains.
