Kamikawa Jinja is a shrine located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, with the former shrine rank of kensha (prefectural shrine). The shrine was established during the Meiji era when settlers came to develop the vast lands of northern Hokkaido, enshrining a deity of pioneer protection. Standing on the elevated ground of Kaguraoka, it has long overlooked Asahikawa and the broad Kamikawa Basin. The shrine compound includes Asahikawa Tenmangu as a subordinate shrine, drawing visitors seeking blessings for academic success and the development of talent.
