History
Ōokuni Jinja is a shrine located in Daizenji-machi, Kurume City. It enshrines Ōkuninushi no Mikoto (Ōokuni no Mikoto) and has long been revered as a deity bringing romantic matchmaking and commercial prosperity. The same deity enshrined at Izumo Taisha is venerated here, and the shrine is affectionately known as "Daikoku-sama" by the local people. It is particularly known for blessings of successful romantic unions and family harmony, and many couples and married pairs visit to pray. In Kurume, this deity has continued to forge happiness and good relationships among its people.
