Enkyo-ji is an ancient temple of the Koyasan Shingon-shu, holding the prestigious designation of Bekkaku Honzan (special head temple). Located in Kitakata-cho, Gifu Prefecture, it has long attracted the faith of many as a sacred site of esoteric Shingon Buddhism — a place that illuminates the heart like the round, clear mirror its name evokes. Its status as a Bekkaku Honzan within the Koyasan Shingon-shu attests to its deep religious tradition.
