Shiyama Jinja is the tutelary shrine enshrined in Shiyama-machi, Omuta. Named after the geographical features surrounded by four mountains, this shrine has long watched over the safety and prosperity of its residents in this area. In Omuta, which developed as a coal mining city, it has served as an important spiritual support for the people of the Shiyama district. As a community-oriented shrine, it is beloved as a place that deepens bonds among residents through festivals and year-round rituals. Though small, it is a shrine full of warm human sentiment.
