Toyohira Shrine

Toyohira Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in Toyohira Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido, carrying the former social rank of gōsha. Established during the pioneering era of Hokkaido's development, it has long been revered as the tutelary shrine of the Toyohira community. The shrine is particularly known for its blessings of safe childbirth and child-rearing, drawing families throughout the seasons to pray for the wellbeing of their children. Surrounded by the four distinct seasons of Hokkaido's nature, it continues to stand alongside the lives of local residents as the community's guardian shrine.
