History

Byakko

Filled with the compassion of the Thousand-Armed Kannon, this temple has long been a refuge for suffering souls since ancient times. I have witnessed how tears dry from visitors' faces and how new light of hope fills their countenances. The thousand arms of Avalokiteshvara represent the aspiration to save a thousand suffering beings at once. Here, all receive equal salvation regardless of wealth or station—only those of pure heart receive Kannon's protection unfailingly.
