History
Zenraku-ji is known as the thirtieth temple of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temple Pilgrimage and is an ancient Shingon Buddhist temple. It has been revered since ancient times as the principal shrine of Tosa Province, and it is said that Kobo Daishi Kukai also practiced here. From its distinguished position as the principal shrine, it has been positioned as an important sacred site protecting all of Tosa Province. Many pilgrims visit seeking peace of mind and the fulfillment of their wishes, offering prayers in its serene grounds.
