Komura Shrine, located in Shimobun, Hidaka, Takaoka District, Kochi Prefecture, is listed in the Rikkokushi historical chronicles as a kokushi-kenzai-sha and has been revered as the Second Grand Shrine (Ninomiya) of Tosa Province since ancient times. Its former social rank was kensha (prefectural shrine). Situated in a nature-rich setting with views of the clear waters of the Niyodo River, the shrine has long been a spiritual anchor for the people of Tosa, gathering faith through its divine virtues of agricultural protection and bountiful harvests.
