Tokugennin is an ancient Tendai temple located in Kiyotaki, Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture. Its mountain name is Ryutsu-zan, and the principal image is Sho Kannon (Holy Kannon). Also known as Seiryu-ji, this temple flourished as the Bodai-ji of the Kyogoku clan during the Muromachi period. The Kyogoku family mausoleum within the grounds is designated a National Historic Site, preserving the dignity of the former guardian lords of Omi Province. The grounds, adorned with autumn foliage, are renowned for their extraordinary beauty, a place where history and nature blend seamlessly.
